Finally! FINALLY! Watch in awe, fillies and gentlecolts, as the Great and Powerful Trixie appears in your sight in all of her splendor! I finally managed to get her done! And sweet Luna she looks just amazing, didn't even think it'd turn out as good as that. I know she basically follows my Mk 3 pattern, making her nose a little too thick, but oh boy she's just awesome.
So, way back in April 2016, I finished my first Trixie plush, saying she'd be a deluxe version, using hip fabric for the hat and cape, but my sister then didn't want to give me her spares, and the shade wasn't right, so I let that aside to focus on commissions. But with my Epic Plush Rampage this January, I finally had some time to do the accessories for her, and we found a cotton fabric with the right shade of purple in my mom's reserve, so thanks to her, I was able to do that. My sister borrowed me her fabric paint, and I made a stencil to print the pattern on the mane and cape. Just look at that! I wanted to make the pattern as accurate as possible, with some little twists here and there since I added moons and bigger 8-branched stars among the rest.
I also thought I'd be able to finish it on Wednesday, but I realized I had to buy a new thread to do the decorative sewing on the hat and collar of the cape, since all threads we had at home were not the right shade, so I had to wait for Saturday to buy that one and finish everything. I also used it to sew the neck part and the snap and the rhinestone. And while I was sewing one part of the snap, I unfortunately broke my very favorite needle in the process by pulling the thread a little too strong. I'm pissed of that, but I think it went through a lot, and that stitch was just the last it could endure. RIP, best needle in the world.
So now I can sell her, finally. Yay!
The Great and Powerful Trixie Lulamoon is made out of Azure, Sky and Dusty Blue Minky Cuddle 3 from Shannon Fabrics and is hand embroidered with DMC embroidery threads. The hat is made out of painted purple cotton fabric. The cape is made out of painted purple cotton fabric with an Aquamarine rhinestone and is detachable with a snap.
